Solar Eclipse in Mitchell County 2024

April 8, 2024, Mitchell County will be a part of the Solar Eclipse! While we won't be in the path of the total solar eclipse, it will still be an awe-inspiring phenomenon to witness. Our county will see about 84.9% of coverage at around 3:10 p.m. Check out some helpful info below to make it a fun and safe experience!
Wear Proper Eyewear
While we are all eager to lookup, don't forget your can still damage your eyes. You must have proper, certified eyewear! Regular sunglasses do not work! A brief look can cause permanent damage!
Pets Behavior Could Change
It's not a guarantee that your domestic or farm animals act strange, but just a heads up it could happen. If your animals experience anxiety, it might be best to leave them where they feel safe.
Is it because the eclipse will damage your phone?! Of course not! However, the eclipse will be gone so quickly that you don't want to miss this special moment. Snag a few pics or a quick video, but soak up and enjoy this unique time!
